Privacy Policy — Climbing Buddy

Short version: Climbing Buddy does not collect, transmit, or share any personal data. Everything you log stays on your device. We don't know who you are, and we like it that way.

1. Who we are

Climbing Buddy is developed and maintained by Kijmoshi ("we", "us", "our"). If you have any questions about this policy, contact us at support@kijmoshi.xyz.

2. Information we collect

We collect no personal information. Climbing Buddy operates entirely on-device. The following data is created and stored locally on your iPhone only:

Climb logs you create (grade, outcome, date, notes)
App preferences and settings you configure
Streak and achievement progress

This data is stored on your device using local storage. It never leaves your device through our systems.

3. Data we do NOT collect

We do not collect, store, or process any of the following:

Name, email address, or any account information
Location or GPS data
Device identifiers or advertising IDs
Usage analytics or crash reports sent to our servers
Health or fitness data through HealthKit or any other API

4. Third-party services

Climbing Buddy does not integrate any third-party analytics, advertising, or tracking SDKs. We do not use services such as Firebase, Mixpanel, Facebook SDK, or similar tools.

The app is distributed through the Apple App Store. Apple's own privacy practices apply to that distribution. You can review Apple's privacy policy at apple.com/privacy.

Our website is hosted at climbing-buddy.kijmoshi.xyz. Standard web server logs (IP address, browser type, pages visited) may be retained for a short period for security purposes and are never sold or shared.

5. iCloud sync

If you have iCloud backup enabled on your device, iOS may back up locally stored app data as part of your standard device backup. This is managed entirely by Apple and is subject to Apple's iCloud privacy policy. We do not have access to your iCloud data.

6. Children's privacy

Climbing Buddy does not knowingly collect any information from anyone, including children under the age of 13. Since we collect no data at all, the app is safe for all ages in that regard. Parents should review Apple's parental controls for broader device-level protections.

7. Data deletion

Since all data lives on your device, you can delete it entirely by uninstalling the app. You can also clear individual climb logs from within the app at any time. We have no server-side data to delete.

8. Changes to this policy

If we ever change how data is handled (for example, if we add a sync feature in a future version), we will update this policy and note the effective date at the top of this page. We encourage you to review this page periodically.
